The lights overhead came to life brightly shining against a sky blue curtain where several fake clouds hung and swayed gently as the audience of children and their parents looked on. Soon a dreamy melody came to life, filling the stage as it hushed the whispers of the audience and the cameramen zoomed into the curtains as they pulled back, and behind them was the yard and face of a small yellow house with a red roof. The sounds of birds chirping filled the stage as it rotated slowly going to the inside of the house, past the kitchen and main room and into a bedroom where under a rainbow polka dotted blanket a form stirred gently.

"Tweet! Oh good golly Holly! Wake up!" called a nasally voice and on the frame of the window appeared a yellow bird puppet, whose wings flapped stiffly and head that bobbed up and down "C'mon you silly girl! Everyone is waiting!" the bird squawked more at the body under the covers.

The covers stirred about, pulling away from the head showing a lavender night cap with a bright yellow puff at the end of it "huh…mmm…Picky it's too early…" she mumbled as a few giggles came from the audience. But then she sat up, clad in a matching nightgown with long sleeves and large yellow buttons going down the middle. "Did…you say everyone?" she blinked and rubbed her eyes as she turned too the camera, "Oh no! You should've said something Picky!" she fumbled under the covers only to fall out of bed with an "oomph" and giggle as her nightgown flopped down and showed off a pair of comically large yellow bloomers.

She lay belly down for a moment with a smirk on her rosy lips, before pushing against the bed and doing an impromptu summersault to end up in a sitting position, cross-legged. Brightly she smiled, the baby-faced girl with her cocoa eyes waved from where she sat and took in a deep breath to exclaim "Ohayoo!" she waved to all the kids and explained "hehehe that's 'Good Morning' in Japanese!" It was typical for her to say 'Good Morning' in a different language, it was one of the charms that made her show fun and educational as the kids in the crowd would giggle and did their best in returning the phrase.

"Well, lets start with our morning stretches everyone!" she said as she hopped to her feet, watching as the kids went from their seats onto the mats in front of the stage followed by a few of the parents. "First! We get all the way Up!" she got onto her tippy~toes and stretched her arms up "from when we were all~ the way Down!" she continued after holding the first position, bending over and touching her toes as she gave time for everyone to follow. "And we stretch the Right way!" she said and bent to her right before going left "And get what's Left out of our bodies with just a few Twists!" she smiled as she continued, turning her body to both sides a few times before ending the stretches with a clap "Great job!"

Holly smiled as she felt the glow of the lights and those adoring stares from the kids on her face. That feeling was a rush to her, getting her more energetic as she skipped from her bedroom with a cheery bounce across the set as it turned in front of the kids from one room to the next. She was used to walking on the turning set, it was hard to believe how far she had come; only a year ago Holly would stumble on the turning platform and not look clumsy, since just a year ago the then twenty-three year old had just started her show and now was a favorite amongst the younger crowds.

She giggled as she went through her routine of getting breakfast out, not just her stage one, but her actual breakfast, as she readied the toaster, telling kids to be careful when they used appliances as she always reminded them. It was in the year of doing this show that Holly had discovered a lot of herself, not that she played a big kid on stage, but this was who she really was on the inside.

Holly carefully continued the make her breakfast, the sounds of cereal hitting the bowl and the pop of the silver toaster and she would hum while walking to her refrigerator as the yellow bird popped up in a nest in the window. "Tweet! Holly~ what's that cereal? It's not the kind I like!" the bird flapped his wings and showed his dismay with is whistles and tweets.

"Picky Peck, don't be so picky! You gotta try something new." Holly said as she pulled out an empty milk bottle and sighed at it, walking over to her window and leaned out. The set turned slowly to the front of her house where just her upper half hung out and she looked side to side, holding that bottle with both hands as the puff from her sleeping cap fell in front of her face and she blew at it to try and push it out of her face.

"I don't wanna try something new Holly! Tweet! I want what I like!" the yellow bird whined and flapped his wings as he appeared in the windowsill next to Holly, flapping his wings and the crowd giggled quietly. Meanwhile in the background there was the jingling of bells and a rickety sounds engine slowly becoming louder as if approaching.

Holly looked at Picky, blowing at that puff again and smiled "But picky, if you don't try something new how will you know what's good and even better you silly bird" she giggled and patted the bird on the head. She perked her ear up, looking around as she tried to place it "Do you hear that kids? Picky? It sounds like Deliveryman Sam" she would perk up and look across the lawn to a dirt road in front her house.

"Well good morning Holly!" called a deep voice as a man walked from the edge of the lawn. He walked with the sound of two bottles of milk clattering against each other as the man sang. "How are you doing honey?" the dark skin man asked as he set down the two full glass bottles in front of her door and picked up one of the old ones as he walked over to her in the window, humming along a merry little tune as the camera zoomed in on them.
"Morning Sam, I'm doing fine! Though Picky is being picky." The young woman smiled and looked at him, blowing on the yellow puff in her face again "what's do you have for me this morning?" she asked and giggled, trying to hum along with him, but just couldn't get the tune. All the while she held onto the other empty milk bottle and played with it idly, watching him come closer.

He chuckled heartily and took the bottle from her hand "That's Picky for you though. I know I've said this before but you know what you can try?" he asked and reached over to her face, playfully tugging off her sleeping cap and showing off her head of short curly blonde hair. "Much better, that puff was bothering me," he chuckled heartily and put it in her hands "now what do I have for you? Well I've got milk. Check," saying as he held up a small glass container of milk, "I've got some groceries," saying while he patted a large bag hanging from his shoulder, "check and I've got the morning mail for you Holly" showing off several large letters with a shake of the wrist before putting them back.

"Ooh anything for me Sam?" the bird asked as he popped into focus and looked between the two as his head bobbed a bit "Tweet? What do you mean that's Picky for you! I'm offended, tweet!" he flapped his wings with a huff that caused Holly scoot over, giggling some from the few feathers that flew about.

"Hehehe, you know I didn't mean anything hurtful Picky. And actually I do have something for you. Seed of the month club" he said and started handed Holly the groceries and mail as she fumbled a bit to not to drop any. "And that trick to it Holly?" Sam said as he looked back at her and gave Picky a small bird sized box with a string tying it shut, "Give Picky a bit of both, some cereal to try and some cereal he knows he likes."

"Ohh wowie Sam that's really helpful, thanks a bunch," Holly said with a smile and giggled, "I really appreciate it!" she said with a sigh of relief as she got all the items on the counter, thankfully not dropping anything, first putting the jug of milk down, then the brown package of groceries, and finally the large envelopes that she would read after her breakfast.

"Well no problem Holly, no problem at all," he said with another laugh and gave her a wave and a nod as he turned around and headed back down the hill with a cheery whistle to be joined with the musical rumbling of his mail truck.

Breakfast beyond that went well, a cut away scene for the kids to get their potty breaks and the puppeteer for Picky to stretch out his break, kicking her feet happily in her chair while munching on her cereal and chewing on her toast, even going so boldly as to drink her juice. Holly giggled as she read the top letter, being the queue for the next segment of her show, she got her lines down, going over each things to say a few times even as she got up and clean off her dishes in the actually working sink on the set.

The cameras and lights were back on Holly, the audience was sitting in childish patience with a new comfort to finish off the show, and then there was Holly, happily sitting in a new position and part of the set. Cross-legged and atop a patchwork quilt, that was a gift from her friends at the Quilting Club. "Welcome back everyone! I'm so happy you came back! I'm also happy to have all these new letters to read off, I hope I can get through all of them!" Holly said with a cheerful exuberance as she pulled a nearly foot tall tower of letters "ooooh wow…um," she giggled and blushed some, "maybe just one or two letters will be fine…I really gotta go through these letters more often don't I?" she asked aloud with a giggle.

It was the audience next who giggled with her, the children always amused by Holly's forgetful nature and even one or two of the accompanying parent reminded of their own forgetful times. "No time like the present to remedy this then!" she exclaimed and wiggled her bottom into the quilt she sat on with determination to get through the first letter, holding the letter in front of her she readied to read it aloud even clearing her throat and taking a deep breath in to speak.

"Presents! Is it Christmas already Holly? Tweet? Ooooh Jingle bells jingle bells! Jingling all the way, Oh what fun it is to Deck the halls with gifts from Holly flalalalaalalala~laa!" came the nasally voice of the bird Picky who's small frame popped from the small bird house on the wall, bobbing a yellow feathered head as Holly yelped in surprise.

"Ooooh Picky! It's not Christmas! And it isn't very nice to surprise people like that either; you almost made me have an accident!" Holly huffed at the puppet bird and set the letter down in her lap. "I'm trying to get through some of these letters and answer all the questions from the kids at home!" she said with an annoyed whine in her voice.

"Gee I'm sorry Holly, I didn't mean to, but but I wanted it to be Christmas, cause then there are presents, and ornaments, and presents, and cookies, and best of all~ Presents! Tweet! I'll let you get back to your letters." Picky would flap his tiny wings once or twice and watched Holly from his front hole of the bird house.

Holly sighed and nodded to herself before looking up to her feathered friend with a cute smirk across her lips. "Oh it's alright Picky, I didn't mean to yell at you. You just surprised me…" she turned to the bird and made the shape of heart to show her forgiveness. "And I know you love Christmas I do too, especially for the all the good will and season's true meaning" she giggled and already it seemed was thinking on a Christmas special, but for the mean time she adjusted the letter in her lap still looking on at her feathered companion.

"I forgive you Holly, tweet, I guess I got a little carried away, I should be sorry I know how much you love reading those letters Tweet. I'll make it up to you and go order lunch!" Picky said as he went back into his birdhouse and closed to door behind him.

She turned from her spot and looked at the bird who went back into his bird house "Oh Picky, I'm sorry too, I got carried away myself, it happens. And don't worry about lunch I think we should make something yummy later" she said and waved to the bird house before taking the letter and flapping it open to properly read it. "Ahem, now where was I?" she paused for a moment. "Right, Letter; Dear Holly, Me and my Friend have been working in a garden and we can't get the plants to grow right, we give them plenty of water, right until they are swimming, but they still won't grow. Your friends Val and Chris." She smiled and thought on the letter and question "I think for this question I'll need to pop out into the garden, want to come with?" she asked and stuffed the letter into her pocket as she got up clumsily, dusting herself off and taking another letter or two. "It's time for Holly to change; I'll meet all of you outside! Be back in a feather flap!" she exclaimed and headed towards her room and the set grew dim.

Just a quick change was what Holly needed to do as the audience was being led to the rooftop set for this segment of the show. Giggling to herself as she slipped from the yellow nightgown and bloomers she had been wearing only to pose for herself in the mirror just for a moment in her under garments. With a quick wink she'd slip on the bright yellow tee with designed to look like a field of sun flowers and then a pair of patchy overalls up her legs and then snapped shut. Then on with her shoes and grabbing a bit straw hat with a sun flower seed band she was off.

~ ~ ~

Atop the roof of the studio was where the next segment was, worked into a rooftop garden and green house with the door back into the building painted to be the back of Holly's house. "What a great day outside isn't it?" Holly asked with her arms out stretched widely and a smile across her face shaded by the big straw hat atop her head, walking from the door up to a small boxed of section with vegetables, flowers, and plenty of growth charts sprouting from the black dirt.

"Now before we start gardening remember what we do? That's right, we make sure we have all our tools and supplies, that includes; a soft thing to sit on. The dirt is soft enough but an old pillow is much better for you, your tools that you made sure to put in the same spot so you'll never lose them, and last but not least proper clothing, including gloves for those extra dirty jobs and a hat to keep the sun from burning you" Holly spoke as she directed herself to each object, sitting down on her pillow and checking on a few sprouts that were jutting from the dirt.

"Now Chris and Val you know that water is pretty important to make things grow, but too much water can be bad. If your seeds are swimming then they won't grow at all because they won't be able to cope with all that water. You might have to start over again but don't worry, all you'll need is just enough water to sit on top of the soil for a moment before it sinks in…" she poured some water from a watering can, using the same amount she just recommended. "A good tip especially if you're growing a plant in pot is to use a cup of water to fill up from, and remember not too much water. Now the other thing that plants really need is sunlight, for outdoor gardens they should get it just fine, but for indoor potted plants make sure they're right in the window and on a firm flat surface."

She showed the camera the watering she was talking about a few more times, then doing some fixing of the soil and tending to her plants. "There is another thing that plants really like, and you may not think they do, but plants really like when you talk to them. She got in close and smiled with a warm grin across her lips, looking down at a few flowers she was growing "why hello there, aren't you all so pretty looking, I just know you'll grow up to be the most beautiful flower you can be!" she cheered and kissed each one before rolling back and looking to the kids and camera.

"Were almost out of time everyone but I think I have enough time to show you all one last craft before its time to go," she smiled and rolled back onto pillow, "this one only takes some popsicle sticks, string, and safety scissors with your parent's permission. This is to know where your part of the garden is, take the sticks and pop them into the ground around your area, gently wrap the string around the sticks like this," she wrapped the string around each stick not to tightly and enough for everyone to see how they were supposed to go and not fall off. Taking her time on each stick she ended it with a big bow knot, and retying it once or twice to make sure everyone got enough time to see how she did it.

"I suppose there is one more thing to show you all since you've all be so good. This works perfectly for flowers, take a stick and gently plant it next to flower after its grown some and then a small bit of string, loop it around your flower's stem and gently tie it around the stick, this way your flower will have something to grow strait and tall without drooping any and if you really want to keep track get a marker and do a growth chart for your flower like this," Holly said as she took a marker and put a dash at where the flower stood, with plenty of room on the stick to follow along, "Well alright kids, that's all the time I have now. I'll be looking forward to seeing you next time kids!" she smiled brightly and waved towards the audience and camera as it panned out and she got up to water some other things, then with the camera turning off, had time to meet all the kids and talk with them.
Some of you may have seen this story before, but never quite like this, finished and as satisfactory to me as it will be for now. Maybe I'll do more later on with this story in time, but till then I hope you enjoy with sweet Holly ^^
